“The tulips came up in hundreds”
-The Legend of the Tulip- By Isidora Newman
Spring is finally in the air here. Like Granny Grey in “The Legend of the Tulip” I love spring color.
Here are some gems from my new “stash” that I will be working with to create a light and colorful Spring/Summer line. I even have a few vintage bunny charms for some great Easter (gift) pieces!
I am drawing inspiration from this sweet vintage children’s storybook. The illustrations are wonderful!
And if this is what your family heirlooms look like now…. contact me for a custom made necklace. So you can use and cherish great grandma’s treasures!
Check back in a few days for the completed creations!

Longing for a Summers Breeze….
The cowslips tall her pensioners be:
In their gold coats spots you see;
Those be rubies, fairy favours,
In those freckles live their savours:
I must go seek some dewdrops here
And hang a pearl in every cowslip's ear.
-William Shakespeare- A Midsummer Night's Dream
March always seems to get our hopes up here in MN. It teases us with warm days. Then shocks us with a 6” snowfall, and one last week of winter.
I spent my snow day this week dreaming of summer and creating new pieces with a summer theme.
This first piece is “Dreaming of a Midsummer’s Night”
The second is “A single rose be my garden”
These pieces are now available on Etsy.
Here’s to Summer!
“I know a bank where the wild thyme blows,
Where oxlips and the nodding violet grows,
Quite over-canopied with luscious woodbine,
With sweet musk-roses and with eglantine.”
-William Shakespeare- A Midsummer Night's Dream
Thank you so much for visiting!

Shiny Trinkets
Native American lore says: “Crow likes to steal shiny bright objects; always a clown. Looking for the bright and shiny aspects of life."
So like the crow I’m always looking for “the bright and shiny aspects of life”.
Spring is in the air, and here at Nostalgic Summer I have been busy purchasing goodies to create some great new Spring/Summer pieces.
I recently attended a fantastic estate sale with the mother load of vintage items.
Here are some photos of my before
and after creations.
As you can see I have collected lots of great vintage trinkets to create with. Check out my shop on Etsy at:http://tinyurl.com/nostalgicsum
